A warning for ice has been issued across Falkirk just days after the district basked in 18C sunshine.
The Yellow 'be aware' alert from the Met Office comes into force from 10pm tonight, and lasts until 10am tomorrow.
Forecasters say that wintry showers overnight may lead to fairly widespread icy patches, particularly on untreated surfaces.
They also say there's a slight chance of some travel disruption because of this.
What to expect
- Probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths, leading to an increased chance of accidents or injuries
- Some higher elevation roads may be also affected by snowfall, resulting in longer journey times
A Met Office spokesperson said: "Further wintry showers overnight Wednesday and early Thursday may lead to fairly widespread icy patches, particularly on untreated surfaces.
"Some accumulations of snow are also possible, particularly across eastern Scotland and hillier areas of northeast England.
"1-2cm accumulations are possible mainly above 100m, with 5cm over parts of Scotland, Northumberland and the North York Moors above 200-300m."
