A yellow snow warning has been issued for Leeds by the Met Office with heavy snowfall expected to hit the city later on in the week.
The snow is expected to arrive during the early hours of Thursday and could continue to fall until 6pm on Friday. Earlier forecasts had predicted snow could fall in Yorkshire throughout today (Mon) and Tuesday. The Met Office warns temperatures could reach as low as -10C, and 10cm of snow could fall. People are being warned that roads and railways could be affected by “difficult travel conditions.”
The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has issued a cold weather alert and has placed Yorkshire, north-east England and north-west England under a level three alert, with the rest of England at level two.
