Thunderstorms are on its way to Bristol later today (September 5), according to the Met Office. After a dry start of the day, it will start to rain at 4pm and, by 5pm, it will turn to thunder.

The thunder will then continue until 1am on Tuesday (September 6), predicts the forecasting service, with light showers breaking up the thunder between 8pm and 10pm.

Looking at tomorrow, Bristol will see another dry early morning but the rain will return as early as 10am. Thundery showers are being forecast between 11am and 2pm, which will be followed by light showers until 4pm.

At that point, the rain will turn heavy for a couple of hours before clearing. The rest of the evening and into the night will be dry, according to the Met Office.

However, on Wednesday (September 7), more rain is on its way - starting at 10am and continuing for more than 12 hours until 1am the following day. The rain will be heavy for large parts of the day.

The Met Office is predicting a similar picture for Thursday, with the rain lasting 10 hours between 10am and 10pm. It will be heavy for most of the day.

And, looking at Friday, Bristol will see a dry morning followed by heavy rain between 1pm and 7pm, when the rain will turn light until 10pm. Saturday is forecast to be a dry day at present, with sunny intervals changing to cloudy by late morning, while Sunday is going to be cloudy changing to light showers in the afternoon.
