Snow could fall in Bristol this weekend as the UK is gripped by an arctic blast. The Met Office has issued a weather warning for snow and ice for the Bristol area which remains in place until noon tomorrow (Sunday).
Snowfall is being forecast in the early part of Sunday, between 5am and 10am, with a chance that some of us could wake to a sprinkling of the white stuff. Temperatures are also expected to stay well below freezing at minus two only creeping up to freezing by lunchtime.
After any early snow the rest of the day remains grey - and cold. Today will remain very chilly too with temperatures only getting up to around 4C before dropping down to freezing and below this evening just before the England World Cup quarter final game.

The area may start to see the appearance of some wintry showers this evening too, mainly in the west, and temperatures plummet to a bone chilling -7C. Tomorrow, along with potential wintry showers, freezing fog and mist will be slow to clear with the mercury only managing to reach 4C.
As of this morning (Saturday) the Met Office forecast for Bristol tomorrow shows a 50 per cent chance of light snow for five hours in the morning. The rest of the day looks cold and overcast.
Met Office chief meteorologist, Steve Willington, said: “As an arctic maritime airmass settles across the UK temperatures will fall with widespread overnight frosts, severe in places, and daytime temperatures only a few degrees above freezing. However, the cold air from the arctic will also bring brighter conditions, with some dry, sunny spells, particularly away from the coast and where winds are light it could feel pleasant in the sunshine.
"Some patchy freezing fog is also likely. Yellow National Severe Weather Warnings for ice and snow have been issued for parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and the east coast and south west England."
The baltic temperatures come at the same time as the Met Office placed the whole of England under a level three cold weather alert. And it's not going to get any warmer, with the cold weather expected to stay into next week.
