It will be a dull and cloudy start today and the Met Office has predicted it is not going to get much better until we get towards the end of the week. It will get a little blustery as the week goes on with bursts of rain but sunny spells are predicted.
Temperatures for the South-West will be mild throughout the week. We can expect a reasonably fresh start most mornings this week with temperatures averaging around four degrees, and rising throughout the day.
After the wet and windy blast on Tuesday and Wednesday, we can look forward to sunny spells and temperatures reaching 14 degrees on Thursday. Despite rain expected first thing in the morning over next weekend, we can expect sun over the rest of the day.
The Met Office weather forecast:
Today:
A damp start for many with cloud and rain slowly clearing southeastwards through the morning. Once this clears, the afternoon will be drier with bright spells, and perhaps the odd shower. Winds easing but remaining breezy around coasts. Feeling cooler. Maximum temperature 12 °C.
Tonight:
Any showers dying away, leaving a largely clear night with light winds. Temperatures dropping away quickly, resulting in a cold night with a risk of patchy frost in rural spots. Minimum temperature 3 °C.
Monday:
After a cold start, Monday will be a pleasant day with clear skies and plenty of sunny or bright spells. Feeling chilly when out of the sunshine. Maximum temperature 11 °C.
Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:
A change to become more unsettled but also milder. A spell of wet and windy weather on both Tuesday and Wednesday, then showers likely on Thursday. Temperatures slightly above average
UK long range weather forecast

Thursday is predicted to be a day of sunny spells and showers for most, with some more prolonged cloud and rain expected in the southeast at first along with some drizzly rain across parts of Scotland. These showers may be locally heavy, with thunderstorms possible. This theme is predicted to continue, with southern and eastern areas likely drier, although a chance of showers or rain remains here. A continued risk of strong winds, with a low risk of gales, mainly in the west. Temperatures are expected to be generally above normal, although colder conditions may linger in the far north and northeast.
