The Met Office has revealed what weather we can expect over the Christmas period and if it will be a white Christmas for people across the UK. While Nottinghamshire largely escaped heavy downpours this weekend, heavy rain and strong winds battered parts of the UK. Now Environmental officials have shared the long-range forecast into late December.
Forecasters have given their first insight into the weather for the December period, looking into the possibility of whether it will be a snowy Christmas.
A statement issued on the MET Office forecast page for Nottingham for the period between December 11 and 25 states: "Confidence remains low for this period. Conditions are expected to be more settled than of late, with the potential for high pressure to be located close to the UK, at least at first. With time, however, we may see a return to frontal systems moving in from the west, with drier interludes between. Whilst temperatures may average out close to normal overall, colder conditions are possible at times, with a risk of overnight frost and fog."
