Temperatures below 0°C have been forecast for Wales this week with weather warnings for ice in force. The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for ice for most of Wales from 5pm on Wednesday, December 7 to 12pm on Friday, December 9.
It is expected to be so cold that the forecaster has even said there could be some snow on higher ground. The forecaster had previously issued a warning for Thursday, December 8, which was brought forward to Wednesday. It has now been extended to midday on Friday.
The warning has been updated to cover parts of southern Scotland, Northeast England, north Wales, the North York Moors and Northern Ireland. It now reads: "Frequent wintry showers are likely to fall on frozen surfaces in places, leading to the formation of icy patches.
