A warning of "extreme heat" in Leeds later this week that could cause a danger to life has been extended even further.
The UK is expected to swelter throughout this week, with temperatures set to exceed 30C in parts of the country. Now an amber warning that was issued by the Met Office for this coming Sunday (July 17) has been extended for another day into Monday.
The warning covers Leeds and all of Yorkshire and the Met Office states that "exceptionally high temperatures are possible during Sunday and Monday and could lead to widespread impacts on people and infrastructure". It's also reported that there's a 30% chance that Sunday will be the hottest day ever recorded in the UK.
