The Metropolitan Museum of Art has scrapped plans for a major exhibition dedicated to British fashion designer John Galliano, following intense criticism over his history of antisemitic and racist remarks.
The exhibition had been scheduled to open in May 2027 as the spring Costume Institute exhibition, traditionally unveiled around the same time as the Met Gala. The museum said Monday that the planned show would instead be replaced by another exhibition, with details to be announced later.
