A host of elite athletes from around the sports world descended upon New York City on Monday to celebrate the world of fashion and don some incredible looks in honor of the 2023 Met Gala.
Serena Williams, Patrick Mahomes, Dwyane Wade, Roger Federer and Brittney Griner were among the names adorning the star-studded guest list for this year’s edition of the fashion extravaganza. First established in 1948, the Met Gala is an annual fundraiser for the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
For the 50th consecutive year, the much-anticipated event included a suggested theme attendees are encouraged, but not mandated, to abide by. This year, the theme, along with an exhibition inside the Met, was designed in memory of legendary German designer Karl Lagerfeld, who died in 2019 at the age of 85.
