The Met Gala 2023 is nearly upon us, here's everything we know about the event so far.
The Met Gala is one the biggest events in the fashion calendar, taking place each year in New York at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The event is a fundraiser for the museum's Costume Institute, and is hosted by Vogue editor Anna Wintour.
It's best known for the lavish outfits that the high profile guests arrive in, each yeah fitting a different theme. Each year, around 600 guests are invited to walk the red carpet before attending the event, and is known as one of the most exclusive gatherings of the year.

What is the theme for the Met Gala 2023?
This year, the official theme is 'Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty', inviting guests to pay homage to designer Karl Lagerfeld. The designer worked for the likes of Chanel, Fendi, and Balmain before starting his own brand.
When is the Met Gala 2023?
The Met Gala is always held on the first Monday of May, with the exception of the 2020 Gala that had to be postponed. This means that the 2023 Gala will be held on May 1, 2023.
Guests are allotted slots to arrive, starting from 5.30pm (10.30pm UK time) for around two hours, but some celebs have been know to arrive fashionably late to the Gala.
Who will attend the Met Gala 2023?
The full guest list is never revealed to the public, but there are some names that will certainly be in attendance. Dua Lipa, Michaela Coel, Penelope Cruz and Roger Federer will all co-chair the event together, so we can certainly expect to see them.
The May 2023 issue of Vogue features Anok Yai, Shalom Harlow, Kendall Jenner, Liu Wen, Adut Akech, Natalia Vodianova, Naomi Campbell, Amber Valletta, Gigi Hadid and Devon Aoki, so it's likely they will be on the carpet, too.
Some big names have reportedly been blacklisted from the event, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Zayn Malik, Demi Lovato, Amy Schumer, Tina Fey and Rachel Zoe. They have all attended in the past and spoken publicly about disliking the event, but the only person Anna Wintour herself has confirmed banning is Donald Trump.
