The Met Gala has paid tribute to Rihanna by commissioning a marble statue in her likeness.
The Umbrella singer, 34, has been responsible for some of the prestigious fashion event’s most iconic looks in recent years.
She was unable to attend this year’s event in New York on Monday however as she is heavily pregnant with her and boyfriend A$AP Rocky’s first child.

The Fenty Beauty mogul gave fans a glimpse of the impressive artwork which shows her flaunting her baby bump.
Taking to Twitter, she wrote: “Shut down the met in marble! what’s more gilded than that? Lol! Thank you for this historic tribute! y’all bad for this one.”
The statue is inspired by Rihanna’s May 2022 cover shoot for Vogue magazine in which she sported a semi-sheer lace catsuit.
Rihanna first confirmed her pregnancy in January and is expected to give birth imminently.
It has been reported that she wants to have the child in her native Barbados.
Opening up about her impending motherhood, she told Vogue: “I always thought it would be marriage first, then a baby, but who the f**k says it has to be that way. I’m certainly not gonna let that get in the way of me being a mom.”
