Ireland is set to be lashed with heavy rain as Met Eireann has issued a rather dull forecast for August.
But it's not all bad news as the national forecaster said a blast of high pressure will bring a week of warm temperatures. The August Bank Holiday Monday will see a rather depressing start as heavy rainfall will grip most of the country.
The week from August 1 to August 7 will see low pressure dominate the north of Ireland with an elongated upper level high to the south of Ireland. This will bring the risk of heavy downpours in the northwest.

Above-average rainfall is expected in west Connacht and west Ulster, but it will be a little drier than average in south Munster. Temperatures will remain around average for the time of the year.
The mercury is set to jump in the second week of August as high pressure will bring dry conditions with hot temperatures in the southeast. The rest of the country will see near-average temperatures.
The week of August 15 to August 21 will see the pressure pattern revert to a more neutral state over Ireland with low pressure over Europe steering northeasterly winds over Ireland. It will be drier than average and temperatures will remain close to average.
