Met Eireann has put a weather advisory in place for the whole country as more rain is expected to hit this weekend alongside thunderstorms.
At this point, there is no warning in place but “waterlogged soils and high river levels will cause localised flooding.”
The advisory will last until 11:00 pm on Friday, November 11.

According to the Irish forecaster’s long-from predictions, up to November 13: “Ireland will lie mostly between high pressure over Europe and low pressure over the Atlantic keeping a predominant south to southwest airflow over the country.
“This will lead to above average temperature, especially at night time, and also above average rainfall over much of the country, northeast fringes though may hold closer to average while it will be wettest in the west.
“There will be an ongoing risk of flooding even if rainfall warning criteria is not necessarily met as soils are now saturated or waterlogged.
“The wind treat should remain below warming levels, however.”
However, there is good news in the aftermath of this latest bad spell, as Met Eireann predicts a bout of “high-pressure building over Ireland from the east” from November 12.
This will mean above-average temperatures will arrive, and should lead to lower rainfall and more settled conditions overall and the flow will be south to southeasterly.
“The potential for a warning will reduce and the land will have time to recover from weeks of above-average rainfall.
“Hazards may include an increased potential for fog as winds will be lighter overall.”
