Ireland is set for a miserable month of weather as a cold snap leads into a predominantly wet few weeks.
Temperatures will plummet to -4C within days as hail, sleet and even snow hit parts of the country.
By the weekend, rain will set in with showers and milder conditions forecast.
This wet and warmer than average weather will persist into next week as a series of fronts move in from the Atlantic.
Here's Met Eireann's forecast for the next month:
Week 1: February 11 to February 17
It will be a rather unsettled week as low pressure will dominate over the week with a series of weather fronts moving in from the Atlantic.
The air will be milder however with temperatures slightly above average for this time of year but it will be a wet week with all areas of the country seeing more rainfall than average.
Week 2: February 18 to February 24
More settled weather should return to the south of the country with higher pressure becoming more of an influence helping to keep temperatures slightly above average too.
While there will be some drier periods in the southeast of the country, the northwest will be slightly wetter than average owing to the passage of weather fronts across the far north of the country.
Week 3: February 25 to March 3
As high pressure slowly slips away to the east the average temperatures will still stay a little warmer and the drier spell in the south of the country will continue.
It will be wetter than average with the northwest of the country seeing the bulk of the wet weather.
Week 4: March 4 to March 10
By week 4 high pressure is set to be the dominant feature across the country with temperatures staying a little warmer than average and the drier weather still lingering around the southern half of the country while the north stays a little wetter than average.
