Met Eireann’s 30-day forecast for July predicts mixed conditions but potential for barbecue weather

Met Eireann’s 30-day weather forecast predicts mixed conditions for the month of July.

Despite the possibility of changing conditions the second week of the month still shows potential for barbeque weather.

It should be short lived through as heavy rainfall is to be expected as July draws to a close.

Still, the potential for weather warnings being issued remains low.

Week 1 (Friday 01 July to Thursday 07 July)

The first week will bring a ridge of high pressure that builds in from the west, however it will remain cooler than average for the time of year over much of Connacht and west Ulster, with average temperatures elsewhere. On the bright side it will bring drier conditions than those we have experienced in this past week.

Week 2 (Friday 08 July to Thursday 14 July)

During this week, high pressure will build to the west of Ireland bringing dry warm conditions particularly in the south. Southwest of the country will be slightly above average temperature wise while the rest of the country will have near average temperature for the time of year. Temperatures could reach a balmy 23C in parts.

Week 3 (Friday 15 July to Thursday 21 July)

In Week 3 people can expect pretty average conditions for the time of year. Weakening high pressure to the northeast of Ireland the predominantly easterly airflow should help maintain below average rainfall.

Week 4 (Friday 22 July to Thursday 28 July)

By week 4 the summer sunshine will be replaced by wet weather. Slightly above average rainfall is expected in some southern and eastern coastal counties, while temperatures will remain near average range.
