Get ready to bundle up, folks, as Met Eireann has issued a freezing forecast for the week.
Ireland will enjoy a couple more days of mild temperatures but a huge change is on the way. Temperatures are set to plummet bringing freezing conditions and wintry showers.
The national forecaster has warned of heavy rain and hail with the mercury plunging to as low as -1 degree mid-week. Independent forecaster Alan O'Reilly of Carlow Weather said the "possible" effects of Sudden Stratospheric Warming have started showing.

He said on Facebook: "Some possible impacts of the Sudden Stratospheric Warming starting to show now with NAO forecast to go negative and NAM showing a response possible in the troposphere. This increases the chances of blocked weather but it still doesn’t mean a beast from the East.
"The weather model ensembles will be watched closely in the coming days and weeks to see if models start to pick up any impacts to our weather. In simple terms: A colder start of March is very possible but it’s still wait and see, so don’t go stocking up on bread!"
