The back-to-school weather looks set to come to an abrupt end this week as rain and thunderstorms are likely to arrive from Friday.
Wednesday and Thursday are due to be pleasant ahead of the grim change with temperatures remaining up around 22C.
Today will be mostly dry with sunny spells, although an isolated shower is possible in some coastal areas. Highest temperatures of 22C will be felt in light to moderate east to northeast breeze.

Thursday will also be a dry day with sunny spells and any showers that develop will be isolated, according to the Irish forecaster. Highest temperatures of 17C to 22C are expected in a light easterly or variable breeze.
Outbreaks of rain will develop in the west and northwest on Friday morning and will spread over the western half of the country in the afternoon, becoming heavier.
In the east, there will be scattered showers, but it will become drier in the southwest during the evening with some sunny spells developing and spreading across the country.
Highest temperatures will range from 15C in the northwest to 21C in the southeast and there will be light to moderate, variable winds.
On Saturday morning there will be patchy rain in Ulster and Leinster but it will be drier with sunny spells elsewhere. Despite the dry start for many, it will become wet across Connacht, Munster and Leinster during the afternoon and evening, with heavy rain in some areas.
There will be scattered showers in Ulster too and highest temperatures dropping to around 14C to 20C degrees - it will be warmest in Ulster and north Leinster, with light to moderate winds.
This rain will continue across Connacht and much of Munster and Leinster on Saturday night and will be heavy at times. It will become breezier too, with moderate to fresh and gusty east to southeast winds developing.
Lowest temperatures of 9C in the southwest to 15C in the northeast are expected.
The rain will gradually move northwards during Sunday morning and afternoon, followed by sunny spells and showers with highest temperatures of 16C to 20C. It’ll be breezy in the morning with moderate to fresh and gusty east to southeast winds but will ease later on.
As for how things will fare into next week, the Irish forecaster's current predictions state that “Low pressure near Ireland is expected to bring further spells of unsettled weather.”
Meanwhile, according to weather.com, some counties are in for thunder and lighting with their showers from Tuesday next week.
