Met Eireann have issued a Status Orange thunderstorm and rain warning for Dublin and 15 other countries.
The warning is valid from 11pm tonight until 7am on Friday and affects all of Leinster as well as Cavan, Monaghan, Tipperary and Waterford.
Met Eireann have warned there will be "heavy rainfall with embedded thunderstorms likely to cause flooding" in those areas. Tomorrow will be a wet day overall in Dublin, with highest temperatures of 14 to 16 degrees.

The Dublin forecast says: "It will be a cloudy and wet start to tomorrow, Friday with further heavy falls of rain. The rain will gradually clear during the morning, with sunny spells and scattered showers following for the rest of the day. Highest temperatures of 14 to 16 degrees with fresh to strong and gusty south to southeasterly winds veering southwesterly and easing as the rain clears."
The bad weather is set to continue across the country over the bank holiday weekend. Met Eireann's forecast reads: "Rain over the southern half of the country will be heavy at times on Saturday morning, bringing a risk of flooding. The rain will clear northwards in the early afternoon to scattered showers. Highest temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees in moderate southerly winds.
"Sunny spells and scattered heavy showers becoming widespread on Sunday afternoon. Highest temperatures of 13 to 15 degrees in moderate to fresh south to southwest winds, strong at times in the afternoon and around showers.
"Current indications suggest the weather remains unsettled for Bank Holiday Monday and early next week with further spells of rain or showers. It'll be windy at times and temperatures are expected to fall back a few degrees to the more seasonal average."
