Met Eireann has issued a 12-hour Status Yellow wind and rain warning for six counties on Friday and have forecast "squally downpours" to hit Dublin.
The warning is in place from 2am until 2pm in Mayo, Clare, Donegal, Galway, Leitrim and Sligo. The forecaster said that it will become "wet and windy tonight and during Friday morning with strong and gusty southerly winds developing". They also warned that localised flooding may occur in those areas due to heavy rainfall.
Although there is no Status Yellow warning in place for the capital, Dublin will still be hit with some nasty weather conditions on Friday. Met Eireann's Dublin forecast has warned of wet and windy weather on Friday morning, with " outbreaks of rain along with some squally downpours".

The rain will clear eastwards into the Irish Sea in the afternoon with sunny spells and showers following from the west. Maximum temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees in strong and gusty southerly winds which will veer westerly by afternoon.
While there is no further forecast for Dublin, here is what Met Eireann's national outlook for the weekend says:
Saturday
"A bright day for many on Saturday with a mix of sunshine and showers. However, it will be cloudier in southern coastal counties with the possibility of some rain for a time towards evening.
"Highest temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees in fresh and gusty southwest to west winds. On Saturday night, any rain in southern coastal areas will clear to leave much of the country dry apart from a few showers in the north. Minimum temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees in moderate westerly breezes.
Sunday
"It looks set to be a predominantly dry day on Sunday with sunny spells and just a few showers. Top temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees in a moderate westerly breeze. Staying mainly dry on Sunday night with some clear spells. Lowest temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees with light southerly breezes."
