Met Eireann has given an update on whether or not we can expect snow in March, after ‘Beast from the East’ rumours have been swirling in recent weeks.
There has been keen interest in the much-anticipated sudden stratospheric warming (SSW) event, which is now underway. The weather event can lead to cold, dry weather coming into the north of Europe and across Ireland, but exactly how it will impact Ireland’s weather is currently unclear.
In 2018, an SSW event resulted in the entire country being covered in snow. At the moment, some long-range weather maps, which are subject to change this far out, show Ireland blanketed in snow in early March.
