Met Éireann has given a glimmer of hope of a late summer blast of warm weather with temps possibly reaching the mid-20s next week.
Weather has been mixed in recent days with some sunny spells broken up by bouts of rain and heavy showers at times but good weather could be on the cards again.
Although forecasters have said there is "uncertainty" over the outlook beyond the next few days, they predict "high pressure dominating for much of next week."
