Met Eireann forecasts cool day with sunny spells for Dublin

A calm weekend is in store as Met Eireann has forecasted dry conditions for the next few days.

Ireland will see minimal rain with Dublin enjoying mostly dry weather except for some patches of light rain and mist. Frost and fog will clear this morning to give way to bright and sunny spells.

It will be a rather cool day though with the highest temperatures of 6 to 8 degrees. Tonight, it will be the coldest and clearest early in the night with a touch of frost but outbreaks of rain will move in from the northwest later. Rain will fizzle out but it will be a damp and misty night. Temperatures will be around 0 to 3 degrees.

Tomorrow will be rather dull with patches of light rain and mist but it will be generally dry. The highest temperatures will be around 7 to 9 degrees.

There is no further forecast for Dublin but here's what the national outlook says:

Saturday night

A Met Eireann forecaster said: "Rather cold but mostly dry in just light southwest breezes. Lowest temperatures of 2 to 6 degrees, with a touch of frost in the south and east under broken cloud.

Sunday

"Cloudy outbreaks of rain will mainly affect Connacht and Ulster, turning heavier here later in the day. Generally dry elsewhere for daylight hours with a mix of cloud and sunny spells, though some rain will arrive during the evening. Highest temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees in freshening westerly winds.

"Becoming drier overnight under broken cloud with moderating westerly winds. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 7 degrees.

Monday

"Overall dry for daylight hours with a mix of cloud and sunny spells. Low cloud and drizzle will arrive into Atlantic counties later though. Highest temperatures of 8 to 10 degrees in mostly moderate west to southwest breezes.

"Some blustery falls of rain will move down from the northwest overnight. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 8 degrees in freshening west to northwest winds."
