A weather warning is currently in place for parts of Ireland. A Status Yellow wind alert is valid for Donegal, Galway, and Mayo until 8pm tonight.
A Met Eireann forecaster said: "Strong to gale force south to southwest winds today (Thursday), with gusts of 90 to 110km/h expected."

Dublin will see mild and blustery weather with plenty of cloud. There will be some brief sunny interludes with long dry periods and a little patchy rain. Temperatures will be around 14 to 17 degrees.
Tonight will be mild and breezy with just a little patchy rain or drizzle at times. The lowest temperatures will be around 12 to 15 degrees with strong and gusty southerly winds.
Tomorrow will be cloudy with lots of dry weather and only occasional rain or drizzle. Another mild and windy day with highest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees in strong southerly winds.
There is no further forecast for Dublin but here's what the national outlook says:
Friday night
"On Friday night, there will be scattered outbreaks of rain or drizzle across the country with more persistent falls in the south. It will be another mild night with lowest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees in moderate to fresh south or southeast winds.
Saturday
"Plenty of cloud about on Saturday, but some hazy sunny spells are expected. After a rather damp start with patchy rain and drizzle, it looks set to become largely dry for the afternoon and evening. Staying mild with highs of 13 to 16 degrees in fresh south or southeast breezes.
"Generally dry overnight apart from a few patches or light rain or drizzle. Lowest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees in fresh and gusty southeast winds.
Sunday
"It looks set to be mostly dry on Sunday with a mix of cloud and some hazy sunny spells. There is the chance of rain affecting some western and southwestern coastal areas at times, especially later in the day.
"Highest temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees in fresh and gusty southeast winds. Rain is expected to affect parts of Munster and Connacht on Sunday night, but it looks set to be largely dry elsewhere.
"Lowest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees in moderate southeast breezes."
