Met Eireann has forecast a major change in conditions this week coming as persistent and thundery downpours arrive in off the Atlantic coast from Monday.
It looks as if the week ahead will be a washout with temperatures lowering and the weekend looking to follow suit with rain and thunder due.
This evening will be dry for much of the night with clear spells nationwide however as the night goes on, thicker clouds will move in from the west with patchy rain and drizzle developing along Atlantic coastal counties by morning.

Southerly winds will strengthen, increasing fresh to strong on Atlantic coasts and lowest temperatures will his 8 degrees in some areas.
Monday will be a rather cloudy and increasingly breezy day and there will be outbreaks of rain at times in Atlantic coastal counties - but a good deal of dry weather elsewhere apart from occasional showery bursts of light rain or drizzle.
It will be a mild and humid day with highs of 18 degrees in strong and gusty southerly winds with gales on Atlantic coasts.
Tuesday will feature a wet start to the day with rain countrywide and will become drier for a time in the afternoon with some sunny spells breaking through.
Another spell of rain will push up from the south towards the evening with highest temperatures of 18 degrees once again - slightly cooler in parts of the northwest.
Wednesday will see another wet start to the day with widespread rain, a clearance to sunny spells and scattered showers, some heavy or thundery, will move in from the west.
It will turn breezy as well with fresh to strong and gusty westerly winds developing alongside highest temperatures of 15 degrees.
It will be windy overnight with widespread showers, ad some may turn thundery.
Westerly winds will be strong and gusty with onshore gales in the northwest and lowest temperatures at around 8 degrees.
On Thursday we will enjoy a day of sunny spells and scattered showers, but some will be heavy at first.
After a windy start, west to southwest winds will gradually decrease to moderate to fresh with highest temperatures of 13 to 17 degrees - mildest in the south.
As for the weekend ahead, the Irish forecaster currently predicts: “Unsettled for Friday and the weekend with further spells of rain and showers. Temperatures will decrease for Saturday and Sunday.”
