Ireland is set to enjoy a few more days of summer sunshine before a major change in conditions just before the weekend.
Met Eireann has forecast temperatures to remain in the low twenties until Friday, when the weather will take a turn.
Weather expert Alan O'Reilly wrote on his Carlow Weather Twitter account: “Might be a good time to ensure drains are clear! After a very dry period in many areas @IrishWater have put a hose pipe ban in place in parts of Cork and the weather gods seem to have heard that and are now showing a risk of very heavy rainfall between Friday and early next week.”
