Met Eireann has forecasted a grim weekend ahead with the chance of thundery downpours for some.
Mornings are due to be pleasant with rain and thunder approaching throughout the afternoon, and worsening as the darker evenings approach.
As for today, it will be mainly dry with sunny spells this morning and afternoon with isolated showers, mainly over Ulster. This evening, clouds will increase from the west with outbreaks of rain and drizzle following into the southwest.

This rain in the southwest will extend across the country with some heavy falls in places.
On Saturday, it’s due to be a wet and cloudy start in the morning, but rain will clear eastwards before lunchtime and will be followed by good sunny spells and scattered showers from the west.
As the evening approaches, the showers will become heavier once again with the chance of thunderstorms.
Some heavy showers will continue overnight and will be heaviest and most frequent over Atlantic coastal counties with the chance of spot flooding.
A similar sequence of events will be seen on Sunday with sunny spells expected early on, followed by scattered heavy showers, merging into longer spells of rain at times, especially in the west and northwest.
Some of the showers will be thundery with spot flooding possible. Cloud will build from the southwest towards the evening with outbreaks of rain following.
As we move into next week, Monday will kick off with plenty of clouds and widespread outbreaks of rain - turning heavier later in the afternoon and in the evening with the chance of embedded thunderstorms.
The rain will clear eastwards overnight and will be followed by blustery showers feeding in from the west and lowest temperatures will hit 6 degrees in some areas.
Tuesday will be a day of sunny spells and scattered showers, heaviest and most frequent for Atlantic coastal counties.
As for the further outlook, Met Eireann says things will continue to be “unsettled with further spells of rain and showers, breezy at times too. Turning a bit milder from midweek.”
