Met Eireann has forecast a return of settled conditions as summer could be far from over.
This week the August record breaking heatwave came to a miserable end as thunderstorms and flash flooding spread across the country.
However, Ireland could be in for a glorious end to the month as campers gear up to head to Electric Picnic and the last of summer's festivals.

A forecaster said: "Still a trend for a settled and warmer end to the month. Could be good news for @EPFestival".
Met Eireann's monthly forecast has pinpointed good weather to make its comeback by the end of next week as temperatures climb to above average with drier than normal conditions.
A westerly airflow will be the main driver of our weather this week, with low-pressure systems tracking eastwards over the Atlantic close to, or across, Ireland.
Associated fronts will bring some rain and breezy spells to Ireland, with precipitation amounts this week close to or a little above average for the time of year over the western half of the country.
However, drier than normal conditions will continue further east towards the end of the week as temperatures are a little higher than average by up to a degree in the south.
From Friday, August 26, high pressure will return over Ireland.
This week will be more settled with drier than normal conditions in all areas, with temperatures signalling to rise slightly and become above average across the island.
Sadly, by Friday, September, more changeable weather will return with low pressure likely at times from the Atlantic, bringing more unsettled conditions overall.
Temperatures are signalled to continue to trend around a degree above average for most areas. There is signalled to be normal to slightly above normal precipitation across most areas.
The second week of September will see low pressure to be the main driver of our weather.
An unsettled week is signalled with above normal precipitation predicted for most areas.
Rainfall warnings may be required, but confidence is low at this stage. Temperatures will likely be slightly above the norm.
