Met Eireann has extended its red weather warnings to two more counties, as Waterford and Clare prepare for a battering from Storm Eunice.
The Status Red wind warning for Waterford, issued at 4.40pm on Thursday, reads: "Storm Eunice will track quickly over Ireland tonight and Friday morning bringing severe and damaging winds. Southwest winds veering northwest will reach mean speeds in excess of 80 km/h with gusts in excess of 130 km/h. Some coastal flooding, especially at high tide."
The warning is in force from 7am until 11am Friday.
Clare is also covered by the new red warning, but from 3am until 11am, while Cork and Kerry had already been put on alert earlier in the day.
Meanwhile, a Status Orange wind warning covers Galway, Wexford, Tipperary, Kilkenny, Carlow, Wicklow, Laois, Offaly and Dublin.
Donegal, Leitrim, Sligo, Mayo and Roscommon should expect "blizzard-like conditions" as a Status Orange snow warning has been issued.
A Status Yellow wind, rain and snow warning covers the whole of Ireland until 3pm Friday.
The storm is due to make landfall after midnight, with the first weather warning coming into effect at 1am.
Schools in multiple counties will also be shut on Friday.
