Messy home which estate agent billed as 'exciting project' is up for sale

Pictures have offered a peek behind the doors of a messy home which an estate agent has nevertheless billed as an 'exciting project'.

But images of the four-bed property do not exactly attract buyers to the property which is on sale in the West Midlands.

Outside pictures show bricks, a tarpaulin and other building rubble in the garden area.

The home in Coventry, however, is as not exactly pretty on the inside.

CoventryLive reports that pans fill the kitchen worktop and a dirty tea towel can be seen strewn across the floor.

Paint hangs off the wall in places and there appears to be a number of items baking away in the oven.

Beds are left unmade, stains adorn the walls of a toilet, clothes spill out from crammed cupboards and the main bathroom boasts an array of cleaning products - some might assume have never been used.

And at the back of the property stands a half-finished brick-built extension with gaps where the window and back door were to be fitted.

Estate agents Springkbok Properties refer to the house's ramshackle state in their listing.

They describe the £170,000, four-bedroom property as 'highly promising', but concede it requires 'any buyer seeking a redecoration project'.

'The property is in need of modernisation and redecoration', according to the listing which goes on to describe it as 'an exciting project'.

Agents also draw reference to the unfinished extension, saying: 'the owners have seized work on the project' and that it 'will need to be completed by the new owners.'

In the listing, at online site Zoopla, agents say: "This is a highly promising end-terrace property offering huge potential for any buyer seeking a redecoration project in order to increase their new home’s value or to add their own stamp.

"Boasting plenty of characterful, generously-sized room. This delightful end of terrace property offers huge amounts of potential for the right buyer to add value and to make it their own.

"Advantageously situated in the neighbourhood of Keresley End and is set over two floors, this four bed home boasts excellent transport links, a short distance away from the m6 motorway, Coventry Arena and local bus routes to the city centre.

"Located within easy reach of the city of Coventry - renowned for its history, the property is in need of modernization and redecoration rendering it perfect for house hunters seeking an exciting project.

"With a range of excellent amenities right on the doorstep, including schools, shopping facilities, hospitality establishments and the nearby University Hospital Coventry, the house benefits hugely from its convenient and comfortable location.

"Positioned at the heart of the property is a spacious sitting room, the space is just waiting to be transformed into an modern reception room.

"The kitchen is complete with a gas hob, fitted cabinets, tiled flooring and practical utility storage.

"This room in particular has plenty of promise.

"The property has a downstairs toilet complete with a hand-wash basin and a WC. The four bedrooms accessible from this landing are good-sized, with plenty of natural light and huge amounts of promise.

"One of the rooms has the potential to serve as an office or nursery. The three piece bathroom, which can be found on the first floor, features a tub/shower combination, a hand wash basin and a WC.

"Currently there is an extension being built on the property. The owners have seized work on the project and will need to be completed by the new owners.

"The home offers a convenient driveway and street parking available in the area.

"Due to its considerable potential, this exciting property is ideal for any buyer wishing to totally transform their new home and add huge amounts of value.

"The facade of the building looks out over a quiet road. Accessible via a convenient driveway, the front door opens into a bright and welcoming hallway on the ground floor.

"To get a clear idea of the home's location and the work required to (modernise it/bring it up to the best possible standard), we strongly advise that interested parties arrange at least one in-person internal viewing prior to making an offer."
