Cleaning up after a hurricane is hardly anyone's idea of a fun afternoon, typically involving little more than carrying some trash off a beach and hoping the next storm is held up a little longer. For a couple cleaning up storm debris at Nanny Goat Beach, part of the Sapelo Island National Estuarine Research Reserve in Georgia, one afternoon in October 2017 became an afternoon unlike any they expected to have among the branches and garbage left behind by Hurricane Irma.
