Residents of Formby spotted a familiar place while watching ITV's Ridley.
The drama, starring Adrian Dunbar, kicked off last weekend and continues this evening at 8pm. It follows a retired detective, who is now working in a consultancy role, as he resumes his partnership with his former protégée, DI Carol Farman, played by Bronagh Waugh.
The ITV series has been filmed in locations across Northern England, including Lancashire and Merseyside. Last week, Freshfield Caravan Park in Formby was spotted by locals.

Taking to Facebook a user named Lesley shared their delight at the familiar backdrop. They said: "So last night our beautiful Fresh Field Caravan park made a star appearance on the new ITV drama #Ridley with the amazing #AdrianDunbar, #erinshanager & #BronaghWaugh.
"It was filmed late last year by #westroadpictures & we were lucky enough to be able to get some filming shots which we can now share. We pray the National Trust & Natural England will let us have a continued future on our beloved site, as you can see it is our little piece of heaven in the most gorgeous setting."
Other fans of the show commented, saying that they thought the location looked familiar. Paula said: "I thought it was Formby."
Siobhan said: "Violet Farnell we thought it was Formby didn't we? Enjoyed the drama." Meanwhile, Julie said: "We knew it was Formby too when there was a dunes/beach shot with the familiar rig on the horizon. Looking forward to the next one."
The programme has been inspired by real life retired detectives re-joining police forces in a consultancy role given increasingly over-stretched resources. ITV said: "Ridley will explore thought provoking crime stories in an original and distinctive way."
Adrian Dunbar said: "I don’t think I’ve ever headed into a production with more excitement and enthusiasm. As an actor I know how rare it is to be given such a wonderful opportunity, and the combination of Polly Hill and Chloe Tucker at ITV and Jonathan Fisher at West Road Pictures means we are in both safe and creative hands."
