A Merseyside pub and restaurant has been named among the top 50 gastropubs in the UK.
Gastropubs are pubs which specialise in serving high-quality food. The Pheasant Pub and Restaurant in Hightown was ranked at number 44 on the list, which was compiled by Big 7 Travel.
The Pheasant is a premium pub, bar and restaurant with its own courtyard. The menu consists of a wide range of seasonal favourite dishes, along with classic pub food. The venue features a spacious dining room, a bar space and an outdoor dining area for alfresco dining.

Describing The Pheasant, Big 7 Travel wrote: "The Pheasant is the perfect destination for a hearty feed.
