A new Sky comedy series that was filmed across the region is coming to our screens this month.
Camera crews took parts of Merseyside back in time to the swinging 60s for the filming of Funny Woman and it won't be long until you can try and spot them. Funny Woman tells the story of Barbara Parker as she swaps being a Blackpool beauty queen for life in London in a bid to find her comic voice.
The London she experiences isn't quite as swinging as the one she'd read about and seen on TV. But after a series of setbacks, Barbara, played by Gemma Arterton, redefines the attitude towards funny women and in the process, reinvents herself.

The new comedy-drama was filmed in several areas of Merseyside including Liverpool city centre and Southport last year. Camera crews were spotted in several areas across Merseyside for filming including on Hawke Street in the city centre behind the Adelphi Hotel.
A Sky sign read that 'Funny Girl' [its working title] was being filmed at the 'Crowd Base Kensington Suite.'
Scenes were also shot outside Broughs Butchers in Birkdale, Southport, while the exterior of Rowlands Pharmacy next door was transformed into a hairdressers. Rowlands regional manager Emma Scanlan was star-struck as she watched the scene unfold.
In a previous interview with the ECHO, Emma said: "It was nice to have some attention in the local area, the local community. There were all the cameras, all the tents up, all the people eating. They had the food court.
"You heard people shouting 'lights, camera, action', you know, 'rehearsal, everyone quiet'. I watched outside being nosey for a bit."
The cast for Funny Woman also includes Rupert Everett, David Threlfall, Tom Bateman and Emily Bevans .
Gemma Arterton said: “It’s a heart-warming story of an ambitious woman with a dream of making people laugh – it’s going to be something special. It’s an honour to be working with such an incredible team and be reunited with my first ever director, Oliver Parker.”
Funny Woman will be released on Sky Max and streaming service NOW this October.
