A train window on a Merseyrail carriage was screwed shut on one of the hottest days of the year.
Emma, 31, took to Twitter to share a photo of the window permanently shut, despite the hot weather and reduced services. The mum-to-be also has asthma, and although the carriage wasn't full, she still felt as though all windows should have been open on the exceptionally warm day.
The behaviour specialist told the ECHO: "Luckily the train wasn't majorly busy but there was at least one person in each set of 4. The heat at the moment is unbearable when on transport as the ventilation is shocking, understandably for a country mostly drenched in water but we don't seem to be prepared for things like this when we have been aware of the increase in temperature and global warming for so long we should be making changes.

"Anyway, I'm not a Karen and I'm usually one not to moan but I'm currently pregnant and that airflow was vital on a day like today, to top it off I'm severe asthmatic so without proper airflow I'm not only putting myself at risk but also my baby. It just really got to me today."
Emma was on the Southport to Hunts Cross service this morning, with her boarding at Formby at 11.13am as she travelled to Widnes. Merseyrail has confirmed that it was most likely an act of vandalism and the train has been taken into the depot for "inspection and repair".
A Merseyrail spokesman told the ECHO : "This is not an official repair that would have been made by Merseyrail or our maintenance partners Stadler and we believe this to be an act of vandalism.
"Now we have been made aware of the screw, this particular train will be brought to the depot for inspection and repair."
