Terrified locals have told how men threw rubbish at each other during a fight that broke out on a Scots street shortly before a person was mowed down in a murder bid.
Residents in Clydebank saw a group launching litter during a rammy on Graham Avenue before the brazen attempted murder, which took place around 6.30pm on Tuesday March 15.
They could hear people "squabbling" from their windows before seeing two men and a woman fighting another man in the middle of the road.
Local sources have described the incident, which was caught on video, as 'drug related'.
One eyewitness said a white Toyota C-HR then came 'out of nowhere' and ploughed into one of the men, sending him flying into the air.
They told the Record: "I heard screaming and shouting outside, I looked out and saw two guys and a girl.
"The guys were arguing with each other and launching rubbish from the blue bins at one another.
"Then suddenly, a white car came up and drove straight into one of the men on the road. It came from nowhere.
"He went absolutely flying, I thought he was dead for a split second. The video doesn't show the impact of the speed or the blunt force that he was hit with.
"He was really flung right into the air.
"I gasped, I really didn't think he was going to get up but he sprung back up and returned to flinging bottles at the other men."
Video from the scene shows the moment the motor ploughed into the 31-year-old victim in front of a crowd of people.
The man, dressed in dark clothing, can first be seen emptying rubbish from a bin across the street.
Onlookers can be heard shouting over at the man, stood halfway up the hill, as rubbish is strewn across the area.
Meanwhile the white car moves off from the bottom of the hill just as a young girl and a man cross the street in front of it.
It then accelerates at speed up the hill in the direction of the 31-year-old.
A woman can be heard screaming as the car strikes the man and the bin, tossing him into the street.
More residents begin to scream after hearing the loud thud of the crash.
Youngsters were among the witnesses who run toward the victim's aid but quickly retreat as the driver and front passenger leap out of the white motor.
The victim quickly stands up and runs towards the motor, getting into an altercation with a passenger, who appears to try and strike the victim's head, before throwing an item in his direction.
The driver of the white car gets back inside, followed by the passenger.
Screams from terrified residents continue as a woman with a pram walks alongside the carnage.
The white car then drives out of the street before veering off to the left, away from the scene.
The victim then crosses the road as shocked witnesses begin to disperse.
Another resident who witnessed the incident said: "The car stopped at the top of the hill, then the passenger got out and threw a bottle.
"The guy that had been hit got up along with his friend and started throwing things back at the white car.
"The passenger got back into the car and then sped off."
Police on Wednesday confirmed the incident which they are treating as attempted murder.
Officers said the victim 'did not sustain injuries' but the act was 'deliberate' and urge anyone with information to come forward.
Information can be passed on anonymously.
Detective Inspector Samantha Glasgow said: “This was a deliberate act and it is fortunate that the man did not sustain injuries as a result.
“We are asking anyone who was in the Crown Avenue area around the time of the incident and may have seen what happened or have dash-cam footage of the incident, or of the car involved, to get in touch.
“Anyone with information that could help with our investigation is urged to please call us.
