Men arrested after drugs and cash found in car pulled over by police

Two men were arrested on suspicion of drug supply offences after their car was stopped by police as part of Operation Pelican.

Officers from Merseyside Police arrested two Kirkdale men after finding drugs and cash in their car. A 20-year-old man and a 22-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of drug supply offences after a car was pulled over in Netherton on Thursday, March 31.

Merseyside Police officers from South Sefton said they found numerous wraps of what they suspected to be cocaine as well as a large sum of money. Officers tweeted about the incident via their Twitter account.

The tweet from South Sefton officers said: "Operation Pelican have tonight arrested a 20-year-old male and a 22-year-old-male both from Kirkdale for drug supply offences. During this numerous wraps of suspected cocaine and a large sum of cash have been recovered after a vehicle was stopped in Netherton."

Operation Pelican is an ongoing police campaign launched in 2017 to combat the drug trade and gang violence in Bootle, Netherton, Litherland and the surrounding areas.
