'Stunned': Italy cancels planned US visit after Trump says Meloni 'begged' for photo

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said in a video posted on X Friday that she was "frankly stunned" by US President Donald Trump's mocking claim that she "begged" him for a photo during the G7 summit in France this week. Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said he was cancelling a visit to the US planned for June 21 and 22 in response.

Italy reacted angrily on Friday after reported comments by US President Donald Trump mocking Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, with the foreign minister cancelling a planned US visit.
