ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. let his NFL fandom show a bit on Wednesday when discussing one particular team ahead of the 2023 NFL draft.
While on the topic of the Ravens, fellow ESPN analyst Todd McShay had Texas running back Bijan Robinson going to Baltimore at the No. 22 pick to the dismay of Kiper. McShay poked some fun at his colleague, calling the team “Mel Kiper’s Baltimore Ravens.”
Kiper didn’t care for the pick because he thinks running back JK Dobbins is more than enough for Baltimore’s backfield and would like the team to get some much-needed help at wide receiver.
“There’s no way you didn’t put Bijan Robinson just to aggravate me and Ravens fans,” Kiper said.
Kiper went on to make a bold proclamation since he’s confident that the Ravens wouldn’t use their first-round pick on a tailback.
“If you’re right on this one, I will retire,” he said. “I can guarantee you that.”
Baltimore was last in the NFL this past season in receiving yards at just 1,517 yards and second to last in catches at 124.
