Melanie Chisholm has addressed the rumours that the Spice Girls may be gearing up to reunite at next year’s Glastonbury Festival, saying she wants to “make this happen.”
Melanie – better known as Mel C – appeared on Heart Breakfast on Wednesday to promote her new book ‘Who I Am: My Story’, when conversation turned to a potential headline set for the hit girl band. Rumours have been circulating for months that all of the girls – including Victoria Beckham, who turned down the band’s 2019 reunion tour – are keen to perform on the legendary Pyramid Stage next year.
When host Amanda Holden asked Mel if the rumours were true, she replied: “Oh I wish!”

“There’s no plans at the moment,” she continued. “But you know what, let’s all collectively, everyone who wants to see this happen, let’s all think about it now.”
Mel added that she felt like illusionist Uri Geller and said: “Yeah let’s make this happen, let’s manifest Spice Girls at Glasto.”

Sporty Spice previously told the BBC that performing at the Worthy Farm festival would be a “dream,” and confirmed the girls had “chatted about it.” Although she has shut down the rumours – and not for the first time – several music industry sources suggest talks are well advanced and negotiations are said to be ongoing.
This November also marks 25 years since the release of the band’s Spiceworld album, with a special edition of the multi-million selling album due to be released, suggesting there is no better time for the girls to make an astonishing comeback. Tickets for Glastonbury 2023 will go on sale in November, with Elton John, Arctic Monkeys and Harry Styles also rumoured to be headlining.
Last week, Mel revealed she was almost kicked out of the Spice Girls after swearing at Victoria Beckham at a ‘90s award show.
