Mel B has called her fellow Spice Girls Emma Bunton, Mel C, Geri Horner, and Victoria Beckham “d***heads” for their apparent hesitancy to commit to another reunion tour.
Appearing as a guest team captain on an upcoming episode of Never Mind the Buzzcocks on Sky Max, the singer hinted at her relationship with the band after she revealed she was kicked out of their group chat earlier this year.
In the episode, airing Wednesday, the 49-year-old, better known as Scary Spice, addressed why she was booted from the Spice Girls’ WhatsApp group chat.
As reported by The Sun, she shared: “Because I’m Northern and say what I think and feel and I’m constantly saying to the girls, ‘We need to go back on tour’.”
Asked again why she was “ditched”, she apparently retorted: “Because they’re d***heads.”
The British star has gained a a reputation for dropping "hints" about upcoming Spice Girls projects, even teasing a possible Glastonbury Festival reunion appearance.
In April, she confirmed she’d been “kicked out” of the group’s WhatsApp chat during an appearance on This Morning.
She shared: “Because I say things, you know, I get so excited when it comes to [the] Spice Girls because it is 30 years [since they formed] and we’ve got a lot of celebrate.
“The fact that we’re all still healthy and living life and all talking still. It’s nice.”
Then the pop star admitted she was going to be in hot water again after she confirmed that there was “definitely” something in the works.
During an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show earlier this year, she said: “We are wanting to do something and we are but I can't really tell you because I'll get kicked out of the WhatsApp group again so I have to be really careful.
“We're definitely doing something. I'm probably going to get told off! I'm in trouble now.
“I get kicked out of the group because I get so excited whenever I talk about Spice Girls and the more I say something's going to happen, I will it that much that it does happen like the Olympics and the 2019 tour.”
The Spice Girls' original lineup last reunited at Beckham’s exclusive 50th birthday celebration in April, held at a private members' club.
David Beckham, Victoria’s husband and former England football star, captured the nostalgic moment on camera as the group sang along to their 1998 hit single, Stop.
The pop group, which formed in 1994, went on to dominate the charts with hits such as Wannabe, Who Do You Think You Are? and Viva Forever.
In 2019, the beloved girl band – but minus Beckham – got back together for a string of tour dates across the UK and Ireland.
It was the first time the Spice Girls had performed together since the 2012 London Olympics closing ceremony.
In 2022, the group re-released their Spice album to mark 25 years since its debut.
