Geordie star Andrew Cushin was left delighted after coming face-to-face with Newcastle United co-owner Mehrdad Ghodoussi.
The Heaton singer-songwriter is fresh off the back of a sold-out home gig at NX Newcastle where he had more than 1,000 fans eating out of the palm of his hand with a performance that gained rave reviews from critics.
But there's no stopping the 22-year-old who was already on his way to his next gig in Margate when he had a chance meeting with Mehrdad and Amanda Staveley in London.
Andrew, who has been signed to Libertines legend Pete Doherty's Strap Originals label, had just jumped off the train at Kings Cross when he bumped into the pair.
"It was a chance meeting," he said.
"He was a nice guy. We spoke about football and I told him that I had played at St James' Park and he said he was going to listen to my music, which was nice of him. He seemed really interested and wished me good luck for the gig.
"I just thanked him for taking the club over and rescuing it. I said how well the team is doing and how proud everyone is of everything they are doing at the club.
"It is class. It is just amazing to see."
Andrew, who has worked with industry icons such as Noel Gallagher, played at St James' Park in August during the Super League's Magic Weekend. And after meeting Mehrdad, the devoted Newcastle United fan hopes that the opportunity may come around again.
He said: "I'd love to play St James' Park again and he is definitely the man to make it happen, so hopefully he likes my songs and then maybe one day!
"They were really lovely people and stayed and had a chat for 10 minutes.
"It is nice to have the chance to thank people when they do something good for the club and for the city."
