Mehrdad Ghodoussi delighted firefighters when he made a trip to Gateshead fire station this week.
The Newcastle United co-owner took the time to thank fire crews for their life-saving work during a visit to the station on Friday, September 2.
It may have been the day before the club's clash with Crystal Palace at home, but that didn't stop Mehrdad from spending time chatting to firefighters and taking a tour around the station. Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service chief fire officer Chris Lowther and watch manager Sarah Iceton showed the Newcastle co-owner around the station before he posed for pictures with staff.
Sharing the images on Facebook, the fire service said: "Meeting some local heroes. That was on the agenda for Newcastle United owner Mehrdad Ghodoussi when he visited our crew at Gateshead Community Fire Station [on Friday].
"He thanked them for everything they do in the community, while chief fire officer Chris Lowther and watch manager Sarah Iceton were also on hand to give him the grand tour. You're welcome any time Mehrdad!"
Members of the public were quick to praise Mehrdad for his efforts to unite the community.
Commenting on the Facebook post, Mick Mood said: "Seems like he really cares about the club and the local community. I take my hat off to you sir!"
Julie Briton added: "Congratulations and well done. Great heroes thank you."
