Mehmet Oz moved to Pa. to run for Senate. He won the state but lost his new home county

PHILADELPHIA — Mehmet Oz got a lot of criticism for moving to Pennsylvania to run for Senate. And in the end, he won the primary without much of the hometown love candidates usually enjoy.

Oz won last month’s Republican Senate primary in a race so close it triggered an automatic recount.

But the results showed almost no regional advantage for Oz at all, according to a Philadelphia Inquirer analysis of election data.
