Megyn Kelly takes savage swipe at Meghan Markle as her Coronation plans are revealed

Meghan Markle "couldn't face the thought of being booed" at King Charles' Coronation, claims controversial US presenter Megyn Kelly.

Prince Harry will return to the UK for the historic event on May 6, but the Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with their two children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

The announcement ends months of speculation about whether or not the couple would attend the Coronation, which falls on the same day as Archie's fourth birthday.

It is said Archie's birthday has played a factor in the decision for Meghan to remain at home with her children.

Taking to Twitter to share her thoughts on the couple's decision, American broadcaster Megyn suggested the Duchess would have likely been booed and 'couldn't face' the prospect.

"She couldn’t face the thought of being booed publicly. News flash Duchess: we’re already booing you whether you hear & see us or not," Megyn wrote.

Not everyone was happy with Megyn's comments, with one person urging: "Be kind."

Another questioned: "Why so much hate?" while a third person wrote: "You really need a new hobby and not be jealous of her."

Buckingham Palace released a statement confirming Harry's attendance at King Charles III's Coronation on May 6.

"Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that the Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on 6th May.

"The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet," the statement read.

It is expected Harry will only make a whistle stop trip to the UK for the historic event.

After the announcement was made, Omid Scobie - a journalist whose work focuses on the Duchess of Sussex - tweeted: "I understand that Archie's fourth birthday (also on May 6) played a factor in the couple's decision.

"Expect it to be a fairly quick trip to the UK for Prince Harry, who will only be attending the coronation ceremony at Westminster Abbey."

Detailed planning for the historic spectacle is now in its final stages and up until yesterday, it was unknown if either would be at the event, reportedly causing a "headache" for organisers.

It meant organisers in charge of details such as seating arrangements, transport and security for VIPs, were unable to sign off on their plans.
