Meghan Markle 'signs with same Hollywood talent agency as Serena Williams'

Meghan Markle has reportedly signed with one of her good pal's talent agency companies over in the US, as she gears up to continue the focus on her creative ventures.

It comes as her husband Prince Harry will be facing the music of the Royal family solo in just a few days for his father's Coronation at Westminster Abbey on May 6, whilst his wife stays at their Californian family home with kids Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

The historical day for King Charles also subsequently falls on the same day as young Archie's fourth birthday, with Harry expected to only return briefly to his home turf in the UK in a bid to dash back for his son's big day.

And now it seems Meghan, 41, has signed with her friend and tennis player Serena Williams at powerhouse talent agency William Morris Endeavor (WME) in the US.

Numerous talent agencies have tried to scout the Duchess of Sussex since her and her husband stepped back from their roles as working Royals in 2020 and made the move to the states, reports Variety.

The publication highlights that various departments within WME including “film and television production, brand partnerships and overall business-building” will also head up Meghan’s business and creative plans.

Aside from any new ventures, the agency will also represent her and Harry’s foundation Archewell, and her Spotify podcast, Archetypes. Although for anyone with hopes she will be returning to the screen, it’s believed acting will not be an area of focus for Meghan or WME.

The former Suits actress will be represented by Ari Emanuel, who will work alongside agents Brad Slater and Jill Smoller – the former has been instrumental in Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s career and the latter is the longtime agent of Meghan’s good friend Serena.

Meghan has had her sights set on more creative ventures as she takes her focus off the ongoing Royal dramas. In an interview with Variety last year, she voiced her desire to promote Archewell’s original content.

She said: "So much of how my husband and I see things is through our love story. I think that’s what people around the world connected to, especially with our wedding. People love. I’m not excluded in that sentiment.

“For scripted, we want to think about how we can evolve from that same space and do something fun. It doesn’t always have to be so serious. Like a good rom-com. Don’t we miss them? I miss them so much.”

The latest signing comes seven months after Meghan parted ways from her former agency, Sunshine Sachs, who worked with her when she starred on the TV show, Suits.
