Meghan Markle's hairdresser spills beans on what Archie and Lilibet are really like

Meghan Markle’s hairdresser and close friend has revealed what her and Harry’s two young children are really like as they visit the UK for the first time.

George Northwood called Archie the “cutest, well mannered boy” and their baby girl Lilibet, who turns one tomorrow, “beautiful”.

Mr Northwood recently jetted out to the Netherlands to do Meghan’s hair while she attended the Invictus Games with husband Harry.

He shared a post on Instagram today with several images of the Duchess to mark her family's long-awaited trip back to Britain.

In the caption, he wrote: “So nostalgic and wonderful to be reunited Harry, Meghan and their family in the UK. Archie has grown to be the cutest, well mannered little boy and Lilibet is just beautiful.”

It comes after The Queen reportedly met her great-granddaughter and namesake Lilibet for the first time this week.

On Thursday Prince Harry and Meghan had lunch with the monarch and senior royals behind closed doors as apart of the ongoing Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

The reunion took place at Buckingham Palace following the Trooping of the Colour, and was first revealed by BBC royal commentator Omid Scobie.

He said: “I think people are expecting some sort of big birthday extravagant event, that we're going to see photographs from.

“From what I'm told, we shouldn't expect anything. Those moments with Lilibet are very much private between them and the Queen and of course we know how much she's been looking forward to it.

“They've been held back by a pandemic. Of course the times that Harry has been here it's just been by himself for quite sombre occasions.

“And so this really was the first time. Of course we know the Queen went back to Windsor Castle yesterday, the couple went back to Windsor as well where they're staying at Frogmore Cottage.

“So that would have been the first moment or the first chance for her to meet her namesake.”

Over the four-day Jubilee weekend, Harry and Meghan are expected to keep a low profile.

There has been no sign that the Netflix cameras, which followed them around the Invictus Games, travelled with them to the UK.

Lilibet Diana Mountbatten was named after the Queen's childhood nickname, while her middle name obviously came from Harry’s later mother.

The loving revelation of the kids comes only hours after the Queen pulled out of her second Platinum Jubilee event.

After missing the thanksgiving service at St Paul’s Cathedral, Buckingham Palace announced today that she would also not be attending the Epsom derby this weekend.

Across the Jubilee weekend so far, countless Brits have turned out to celebrate the Queen’s 70 years as monarch.

From street parties to RAF flypasts and Trooping the Colour, the historic four-day weekend has so far enjoyed blue skies and sun for the most part.
