Thomas Markle Snr has spoken out about how "desperate" he is for his daughter Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex to forgive him.
Urging in Channel 7's new tell-all interview with the Markle family that he wants to reconnect "before it’s too late", his plea comes as the world prepares for "hidden" videos to be unleashed.
During the week it was announced on Twitter, by journalist Taylor Auerbach that a world exclusive interview would air this weekend.
He wrote: "This Sunday (April 30) on @7NewsSpotlight - Meghan Markle as you've never seen her before."
The documentary-style interview will air "treasured memories, home truths and secret tapes" that are said to be "all coming out".
Thomas, 78, will speak out in the explosive chat alongside Meghan's estranged half-sister Samantha and her half-brother Thomas Jr.
Speaking to 7NEWS Spotlight in the explosive programme, Thomas made a plea to his daughter, which comes after the stroke he endured one year ago.
Thomas said to the Australian channel: "I wish that we could sit down and talk. I wish we could work out our differences."
Adding: "She loved me. I’m her hero. And suddenly I was thrown out."
The Duchess, who now lives in Montecito with her husband Prince Harry and their children Archie and Lilibet, has been estranged from her family for five years.
Meghan hasn't spoken to dad Thomas, half-sister Samantha, or half-brother Thomas Jr since she wedded the prince in 2018.
Last May Meghan's dad Thomas suffered a stroke at his home in Mexico, with him being rushed to hospital for a five-day stay.
It is reported that the severe stroke that Thomas suffered was caused by a blood clot on the right side of his brain.
Rushed to a hospital near his home in Rosarito, Mexico, he was then moved via ambulance to the US border and then taken to a hospital in San Diego, California.

The family are putting out their side of the story to the public ahead of King Charles III 's Coronation on May 6.
Mirror Online previously reached out to Meghan's representatives for comment about the new interview, with them not responding.
