Meghan Markle revives old business following bombshell coronation announcement

Meghan Markle is reportedly in the midst of putting the 'final touches' on a new project following the bombshell announcement she wouldn't be attending King Charles's coronation next month.

The Duchess of Sussex will remain in her California home alongside her children Archie and Lilibet while her husband Prince Harry will attend the historical event on May 6 after months of speculation on their attendance.

Harry, who has been under hot scrutiny causing tensions among the royal family following his controversial Netflix docuseries and autobiography Spare, will be joined by other senior members of the royals including his estranged brother Prince William and wife Kate.

The highly anticipated event will fall on their son Archie's fourth birthday. And now Meghan has successfully been given a trademark to relaunch her lifestyle website The Tig, according to reports by The Sun.

Ex-working royal Meghan reportedly shut the blog down after she got engaged to Prince Harry in 2017, with it believed she was earning up to £60,000 a year through advertising through the channel at the time. Its logo has a handwritten Tig and a full stop at the end.

Buckingham Palace said in a statement yesterday on Wednesday: "Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that the Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on 6th May.

"The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet."

According to multiple reports, it is said their son Archie's birthday has played a factor in the decision for Meghan to remain at her US home with her children, with Harry expected to make a whistle-stop trip for the big event when he lands back on UK soil.

It is reported that Archie and Lilibet were not formally invited to the historical event as organisers were waiting to hear if they would make the trip to the UK before devising any plans.

Meanwhile, sources told The Telegraph that Harry "would always regret it" if he didn't attend the Coronation and wanted to be there on the "biggest day" of his father's life.

Another friend told the publication Meghan considers her future to be in the US, and it also reported her appearance at the Coronation risked "overshadowing the event".
