Meghan Markle has revealed she was once turned down when trying to appear on a popular late-night chat show.
The Duchess of Sussex, 41, had made it her mission to get a spot on Andy Cohen's Watch What Happens Live when she was promoting the second season of Suits, but was turned down by the show's bosses.
Meghan had been desperate to appear on the programme as she was a huge fan of The Real Housewives franchise, which 54-year-old Andy is the co-executive producer of.
During the latest episode of her podcast Archetypes, Meghan met with Andy and reminisced about the rejection.
"I was so eager to be on your show because I was such a Housewives fan at the time and I just couldn't get booked, Andy! So thanks for being here with me," she said.
Andy admitted he had suspicions that Meghan had tried to appear on his show.
He said: "You know what's so funny, I had that feeling when we started to forensically figure out if it was you because we had a sense.
"We kind of put it together a little, we were like, 'I think she may be a Housewives fan but even worse Andy, we think we didn't have her on the show'."
Andy added: "It is now the biggest blunder in the 13 years of the show, so it's a great story."
Meghan reassured Andy that she hadn't wanted to "embarrass" him, but "thought it was funny to try and remember how things were".
The talk show host quizzed Meghan on whether she still watched any of the Real Housewives programmes, joking he would build a show around her.
The Duchess said: "I stopped watching the Housewives when my life had its own level of drama that I stopped craving…" with Cohen injecting "other people's" and Meghan agreeing.
Andy said there had been speculation of Meghan joining the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast when she moved back to the US.
"I never heard that … you mean really this is my audition for Real Housewives in Montecito?" she remarked.
Cohen joked: "You don’t have to audition. We’ll build the show around you."
"There will be no reality show", Meghan said laughing, with Cohen replying: "I know, I know."
